Time is a precious thing, anytime, any day. It can neither be bought or transferred. You can only make do with the same number of hours in a day, just like everyone else. Fortunately or unfortunately, some people have more activities lined up, waiting for their attention. One must do the needful by finding smart ways to make the most of their time.
One of the pecks of being an Entrepreneur is that you would be your own Boss. As a Boss, very important tasks are up to you to handle, oversee and manage.
Doing these is never easy. Here are a few tips on effective time management ;
# Delegate some responsibilities.
True, a lot of things demand your personal attention, but given time constrain, it is more feasible to leave it in the management of another person.
Most people are rarely confident about delegating. But that could be the best card an Entrepreneur can play in the some situations.
Office is no play ground, so there is hardly any task you can choose to do and abandon the other. It is best to know which task that must be attended to first.
Know which is important, urgent, urgent and important, and which is neither urgent nor important.
# Plan ahead.
Best way to stick to schedules is by first outlining them. Define every minute and hour of your day. What should occur it and what would occur it?
A well organized schedule can give you a picture of where you would be and what you would be doing in the coming hour, even days.
# Get smart with Smart phones.
Smart phones have made everything easy and smart. Everybody’s phone is their own Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
You can execute a million tasks without even needing to leave your seat.
A reminder would keep you in view of pending activities.
#Allocate a time limit.
Time stipulated for every activity must be defined. Given that other activities await your attention, it would be unreasonable to burn all the time on tasks that come first.
#Take a Break.
This may sound “counter” time management. But an Entrepreneur cannot allow activities to choke him or her, so much so they do not have time to find a balance.
A common adage says” all work and no play makes jack a dull boy”. A break would ensure you don’t burnout,leaving you refreshed to face other tasks.
